A Community-

Based Effort

The towns of Bellingham, Franklin, and Medway play host to more than 500 acres of land protected by the US Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Charles River Natural Valley flood control project. Charles River Meadowlands is an effort among citizens and local officials to work together and to work with Federal and State officials, to improve access to and management of this beautiful natural resource.

...COVID and the Meadowlands

In early 2020, when the consultant report on the feasibilty of various stewardship options for the Meadowlands was finally made available, the future looked much brighter.

Today we must acknowledge a vast and continuting public health crisis and an economy in shambles. Meadowlands cannot be a priority now. But, it remains a public asset that we can all be proud of and when we emerge into a better place in a few years it will be time to get back to work!
